Topic: "Largest EU ban on chemical substances ever looms - What does it mean for our companies? Expert assessment and exchange".

The EU is planning the biggest substance ban ever, which will have serious consequences for the entire economy. It is about banning substances that are still widely used today, colloquially known as "perpetual chemicals" (PFAS).

These chemicals can be found in tens of thousands of products. A mere abolition, as now planned by the EU, threatens countless companies' livelihoods and would be a further step towards the deindustrialisation of Europe.

The uncertainty and effects can already be felt now, for example, a Korean company recently scrapped its investment plans in a new chip production facility near Dresden because of this.
