Europe on a Historic Winning Streak!

According to prevailing analyses, China is currently moving into the top spot among world powers, the USA is visibly losing ground, and Europe is struggling to maintain its position. Yet, what is completely overlooked is the enormous progress Europe has made in recent years regarding shared political and military strength. Also overlooked is the growing significance Europe will acquire in the years ahead:

The pincer grip of Trump and Putin has caused Europe to grow closer together and become significantly stronger than treaty amendments and negotiations ever could have achieved.

Signs of this remarkable development include:

Long-standing friends or satellites of Russia—such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and several others—are turning away from Russia one after another and knocking on Europe’s door. Even Canada has made a strategic shift toward Europe in response to Trump’s annexation plans. If, following the end of the war, the vast nation of Ukraine also aligns itself with Europe in a suitable manner—which cannot be standard membership—then Europe will possess a sphere of influence fully comparable to that of the USA, to say nothing of Russia.

Europe’s appeal and power of attraction are overwhelming for its neighbours and partners—above all because Europe seeks neither to conquer nor to dominate anyone. Europe’s adherence to treaties, its appealing image, its rich cultural heritage, and its universally admired “way of life”—characterized by human rights, freedom, and prosperity—are highly valued worldwide; they are viewed in a completely different light than the heavy-handed approach of China or the unpredictability of Trump’s America.

With its "soft" model of governance—which now merely requires the addition of military strength—Europe is virtually unbeatable and enjoys immense goodwill; indeed, it stands as a shining example of how politics can be conducted. In this sense, Europe has embarked on a historic path to success. Yet, like everything else in this world, this extraordinary opportunity is not simply handed down by fate without effort. On the contrary, preserving it for the long term demands the "sweat of the noble." This entails economic dynamism, catching up in new technologies, and, above all, internal political stability that must not be jeopardized by radical parties. It is now up to Europe itself to secure a future of lasting peace and prosperity. The opportunities are within reach, awaiting their realization.
